Abbraccio was born on the slopes of Mount Amiata, immersed in the countryside of Seggiano in a heroic territory, rich in minerals that are a source of life and longevity for the centuries-old olive trees of Olivastra Seggianese.

This ancient and resistant cultivar includes almost all the more than 3000 plants from which “Abbraccio Classico” and “Abbraccio Dop” are obtained, the two extra virgin olive oils of the company. The olive trees are located for the most part in the Seggianese countryside, where the heart of the company is located, at an altitude of about 600 meters above sea level. A small plot of land is located in Montenero d’Orcia, situated slightly lower and also framed by olive groves that follow the hilly terrain that characterizes the area.

For the Amiata in general and for Seggiano in particular, the olive trees of Olivastra Seggianese are a landscape and naturalistic heritage to be protected and preserved. This ancient cultivar, typical of the mountain so dear to the Etruscans, is characterized by small olives, resistant to low temperatures and capable of expressing extraordinary aromas right from the pressing. The small size of the fruit contrasts with the size of the plants, a few meters high and which have been alive for centuries. The technology, which arrived in support of Mirko’s company especially in the harvesting phases, allows the olives to be pressed after only eight hours, thus guaranteeing the freshness of the oil and maintaining all the beneficial properties of “Abbraccio Classico” and “Abbraccio Dop“. All the company’s plants are grown organically, strictly and punctually following the regulations controlling the Seggiano Dop.
